Terms of service

Last updated August 2026

These terms cover this website and the process of requesting a quote. The work itself is governed by the written estimate or contract you sign before we start, and if the two ever disagree, that document wins.

Who you are dealing with

[Legal business name, e.g. Plateau Sprinklers LLC], operating as Plateau Sprinklers, owned by Jeff Hallenbeck.

Washington L&I contractor registration number: [L&I REGISTRATION NUMBER]
Bonded: [bond amount]
Insured through: [insurance carrier]

You can verify our registration, bond, and insurance yourself at the Washington State Department of Labor and Industries' contractor lookup at secure.lni.wa.gov/verify. We recommend checking any contractor you hire, including us.

Quotes and estimates

Nothing on this website is a price quote. There are no prices listed here because sprinkler and yard work depends on the property: how many zones, what condition the system is in, how far we drive.

Any number given over the phone before we see the property is a rough estimate, not a commitment. The real number comes after we look at the job, and it comes in writing. No work starts until you approve it.

If we find something during the work that changes the price, such as a break we could not see from the surface, we stop and talk to you before continuing. You will not get a bill for work you did not agree to.

Scheduling

Weather moves schedules in this line of work, and so does a job that turns out to be bigger than it looked. Spring startup and fall winterization are the two crunch periods, and during those weeks scheduling gets tight. We will tell you as early as we can when a time needs to move.

Scheduled times are estimates rather than guarantees. If a delay is a problem for you, tell us and we will work it out.

Your right to cancel

Under Washington law, if you sign an agreement for home improvement work at your home rather than at our place of business, you generally have three business days to cancel in writing. Any written estimate we ask you to sign will state your cancellation rights.

Access to the property

We need to get to the equipment. That means gates unlocked, dogs handled, and vehicles moved off the areas we are working on. If we arrive and cannot access the work, we may have to reschedule.

Irrigation lines, invisible dog fences, low voltage lighting, and similar buried items are often not where anyone remembers. Tell us what is buried in the yard before we dig, and we will call for utility locates where required.

Work we stand behind

We test what we work on before we leave. If something we repaired fails in a way related to that repair, tell us and we will come back and look at it. This does not cover parts of the system we did not touch, damage from freezing where a winterization was declined or skipped, normal wear, or damage caused by someone else working on the system afterward.

Specific warranty terms for your job are stated on your written estimate.

Complaints

Call us first. Most problems are a misunderstanding and get sorted out in one conversation. If we cannot resolve it, Washington contractors are bonded for exactly this reason, and you can file a claim against the bond or a complaint with the Department of Labor and Industries.

This website

We keep the information here accurate, but service descriptions, availability, and seasonal timing can change. Nothing here creates a contract by itself. Content and images on this site belong to us and should not be reused without permission.

The blog is general information about irrigation and lawn care, not advice about your specific system. If something on your property is actively broken, have someone look at it rather than relying on an article.

Limits

To the extent Washington law allows, our liability for any claim connected to this website is limited to the amount you paid us for the related work. This does not limit anything that cannot be limited by law, including claims for injury caused by our negligence, and it does not affect your rights under Washington's Consumer Protection Act.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington. Any dispute will be handled in the state courts of [County] County, Washington.
